I can’t see your company website on my iphone?

It’s been a few weeks since your website went live.  You still can’t believe the remarkable bargain you found for your company’s website.  All through the process you and your partner would spend day after day reviewing the progress and communicating back and forth with the website designer.  There’s just one problem.  More than 60% of web users surf the world wide net through their smart phones or tablets.  So what’s the problem?  Well, the bargain website designer designed a static website.  It looks fantastic on your desktop or laptop, but it does not respond very well to any other devices such as tablets and mobile phones.

Now, I have to tell you this, because it’s very important.  Responsive design is the most important feature you absolutely need for your company’s website.  Why?  I can think of a few reasons to name a few:

  1. If a potential customer or client visits your site on their mobile device but is unable to view it, they are going to go to your competitor’s website.  The credibility of your company is decided in a split second by your website’s design.  If your site is not mobile friendly, you just gave your competitor your customer!  Ouch!
  2. Google says so.  Yep.  I wrote that.  Think about all the friends you know.  When they talk about searching on the internet, what do they use?  Google time and again.  Google brings your website more traffic than any other source, so if Google decides that the responsiveness of your website is part of the equation in its search rankings, we better fall in line.  This means that if your site is not mobile-friendly, it will be penalized and moved further towards the end of search results!
  3. Mobile devices account for almost 2 out of every 3 minutes spent online according to comScore.  Your website has to have these mobile users in mind!

What is Responsive Web Design????

It’s a website that uses code to resize, show, hide, shrink, enlarge, and move content around so that it looks good on any screen.  It doesn’t matter if the website is being viewed on an iphone, ipad, tablet or android phone.  It will adjusts to the end user’s device screen size.  So your website will look great no matter what the end user is using to visit your site.

Mobile devices aren’t going away.  New technologies are created every day.  Responsive Web Design will ensure that your website presence remains visually appealing no matter what new devices come out.

Still not convinced? Let me leave you with this video. Adidas, a global leader in sporting goods worked with its agency to identify mobile’s power to reach local customers. Long story short, it created a 680% incremental increase in ROI.
